The table is set

Posted by Rune Stavdal

We've been trying to implement some kind of chores system for the boys to make them realize that things don't happen automatically at home. This sounds fair enough, doesn't it? But I don't blame them for protesting when setting the table.

The problem is not that the table is too high or they can't reach the plates, but it's due to the simple fact that the table seems to have a magetic effect on miscellanious things. And because with a family of four kids, you are never able to complete any task before some matter urgently demands your immediate attention. Thererfore, quite a lot of work has to be done before the table is cleared. To illustrate this, have a look at what we found on our dinner table this morning.

We hope this gives you a little comfort, perhaps this even boosts your self confidence if it's not as bad in your house.

Here is a list of the things we found on the table:

  1. A cat (our actual pet)
  2. Rolled up cardboard
  3. A rular
  4. 2 mobile phones
  5. 2 match boxes
  6. A visa card
  7. A pair of scissors
  8. 6 dvd films
  9. An IKEA - catalogue
  10. A roll of toilet paper
  11. A Rubber band
  12. A X'mas CD
  13. A pacifier
  14. Some parts for an IKEA thing
  15. A Gameboy
  16. 5 framed pictures
  17. Finnish/English dictionary
  18. Norwegian/Eng. dictionary
  19. Anti-stress mud pack
  20. A box of old medals
  21. A wallet
  22. A door-sign
  23. A parcel
  24. Car keys
  25. An adapter
  26. A nail file
