A series worth following: "Patmosvisjonen" (The Vision of Patmos)

Patmosvisjonen_small.jpgI am exited that The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Norway on January 13 is airing a combined course and tv-series dealing with the first chapters of the book of Revelation in the Bible. According to NBI (Norwegian Bible Institute) we can expect to discover what the Bible says about how Jesus is planning to save this world. Now, as I see it, any Christian would find this interesting, and even more so those who have serious doubts about the existance of Jesus.

Footage from the actual Biblical locations

Although I'm quite familiar with those passages of the Bible, I'll make sure to follow this series. What's particularly interesting is that the hosts of the series actually went to the island of Patmos where the vision was given to the apostle John. Even more, the Bible passages of the first letters of Revelation will come to life as the various contributors report from the different cities where the actual churches used to be. So, I'm curious to see if this series will shed some light on weather these Bible passages convey an important message to me and everyone in our time.

The course has been developed by NBI and Hope Channel and the first programme is aired at 7pm on January 13 on LifeStyle-tv.

It's possible to sign up for the course by visiting Patmosvisjonen.no. I like the idea that you can be at home following the course on tv and the study material, and in quite a few places you can join a study group.

Anyways, that's my opinion. See for yourself.

After seeing the first programme in the series, I'd say it lived up to my expectations, at least to a degree with which I am content. The general public was the obvious primary target audience, perhaps not that appealing to young people. But why is it, I wonder, the picture doesn't seem quite sharp, but rather blurred? The sound equipment also seems to catch too much of the backgound noise. More importantly, the actual content of the footage from the island of Patmos seems promising.
