The Norwegian rock-band DDE at Jekta shopping mall in Tromsø

Posted by Rune Stavdal

As we popped into the Jekta shopping mall in Tromsø on November 15, the words filling the entire mall were "Nå blir det liv, RAI RAI!" performed by Bjarne Brøndbo and his successful pop/folk band DDE. Being not much of a concert goer, I thought I'd stay around for a few minutes. It turned out to be great fun and I ended up staying for half an hour until Anu dragged me out of there. I even filmed them, so if you conitue reading, you can have fun and watch a few seconds of steam video of DDE live!

They sure were working the crowd

Despite not really being a fan of DDE, their greates hit "Nå blir det liv, RAI RAI" convinced me to stay and listen some more. Not only did they sing quite a few of their greatest hits, but DDEs lead singer, Bjarne Brøndbo really did a great job working the crowd with his talkativity and jokes. He let some of the ones standing closest to the stand sing into his mic and involved the shoppers in joining in on the choruses, and thereby created a lively atmosphere while some eager women were trying to sell autographed copies of DDEs latest CD. I decided to stand more or less still just like a cool stud, but now I kind of regret not shouting and singing RAI RAI with the others. Would have been even more fun.
