North Norwegian Gymnastics Championships 2007
The largest North Norwegian Gymnastics Competition ever took place the weekend from April 13. - 15. with about 450 contestants. After a grand opening, the artistic gymnastics for the men and women gathered a packed tribune. Andreas seemed to enjoy his participation in the competition, but was unlucky in a couple events and ended up fourth.
During warm-up, one of the elite gymnasts, Runar Dahl Hansen, crashed to the floor when the steel-cable support for the high bar tore in the middle of his gaining momentum for a spectacular dismount. Fortunately, he got away with a concussion, but ended up forfeiting even before the competition had started.
However, the weekend in Narvik had more to offer. Staying overnight at one of the county schools produced sporadic social activities. And on Saturday evening, all the gymnasts were invited to Narvik University College for an evening banquet where they were served dinner and later took part in various social events.
Sunday afternoon, the trainers took the boys along to another gymnastics hall where they have a pool of foam-rubber making vault and higbar exercise extra fun.
