Andreas has been granted a place on the Norwegian National Gymnastics Team! He was obviously thrilled when the main coach broke the news to him this week. He is one of four gymnasts from the same gymnastics club Tromsø Turnforening that qualified to be chosen. They happily posed for the local newspaper Bladet Tromsø. Open this entry to read the article (only in Norwegian). The national team for gymnasts aged 13-17 consists of 17 in total.

As you may know, the sport of gymnastics isn’t exactly easy. It takes a long time to get really good and it involves a bunch of special skills including strength, power and lots of nerve in addition to good follow-up by well trained coaches.
His motivation for athletics had its ups and downs at the beginning, but about a year and a half ago, thanks to excellent coaches and fellow gymnasts, he experienced good progress and he started to enjoy learning solid gymnastics fundamentals. Hopefully, he along with the other three gymnasts will serve as good role models for younger ones while of course achieving the goals they set for themselves.
Andreas' gymnastics training started about four years ago, and already at 9 he could do a good , solid handstand press!
