Baby's name is Niklas
Naming our baby boy certainly was not easy. After an almost agonizing process, considering several favourites of ours on the top five list of names, we agreed on Niklas. Now all the four boys' names have the suffix -as.
He smiled for the first time a few weeks ago, and it's fascinating to experience the feedback he gives. Between the smiles and the tears, he utters a uhhh or ahhhh every now and then. His face and shape are rapidly changing as he loves being breastfed.

Since this is our fourth prince, I thought I would delve into finding our more about why breastmilk is the perfect nutrition for little ones. Amazing as it is, I believe God designed babies to need breastmilk! So, if I may, here are some facts I found - a thought for contemplating the amazing design of man.
Firstly, breastmilk has immune system boosting ingredients including antibodies from the mom.
Secondly, breastmilk is the best fluid for baby when sickness occurs -- breastmilk is a clear fluid which contains nutrients and active immunites to help fight the sickness; it digests easily and quickly; and nursing provides reassuring comfort.
Moreover, breastfeeding helps prevent children from developing allergies and it prevents air infections and it promotes proper jaw, teeth, and speech development in addition to preventing constipation. And wherever mom goes, sweet, warm, fresh breastmilk is ready immediately.
Breastfeeding has proven to prevent SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).
Additionally, it helps the mother to relax: prolactin, the milk-producing hormone also known as the "mothering hormone," has a relaxing effect on the mother and stimulates maternal instincts
On top of that, according to several studies, breastfeeding helps protect moms from getting osteoperosis, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, and breast cancer. Studies support that the longer a mom breastfeeds throughtout her life, the lower her chance of getting breast cancer).
This, a coincidence? Far from it! Rather, meticulously planned by the Creator himself.

Jeg liker Niklas bedre og bedre, selv om jeg var litt skeptisk i begynnelsen. Også heter han jo Joel som mellomnavn, og det skjemmer heller ikke.

From the Greek name Νικολαος (Nikolaos) which meant "victory of the people" from Greek νικη (nike) "victory" and λαος (laos) "people".
